Overview

Kilimanjaro National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that surrounds Mount Kilimanjaro, the tallest mountain in Africa at 5,895 meters. Covering 1,688 square kilometers, it protects the mountain’s diverse ecosystems, from lush montane forests to alpine desert and arctic summit zones.

While the park is famous for trekking and climbing routes, its lower slopes also support wildlife such as elephants, buffaloes, colobus monkeys, and leopards. Trekkers can choose from several routes, each offering unique scenic and cultural experiences.
