A locally owned safari company built on a love for wildlife, culture, and the open savanna.
Our Story
Roar of Tanzania was founded with one conviction: that a safari should leave you fundamentally changed. Not just a tick-list of animals seen, but a deep, visceral connection to one of the last truly wild places on earth.
Based in Arusha — the gateway to Tanzania's Northern Circuit — we specialise in bespoke safaris across the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire, Lake Manyara, and Kilimanjaro. Every itinerary is crafted by people who call this land home.
We are storytellers, explorers, and your trusted guides to the wild. When you travel with us, you're not just a guest — you're part of the story.
The Person Behind the Roar
Founder & Lead Guide
Boniface grew up in the shadow of Kilimanjaro, spending his childhood tracking animals across the savanna and learning the stories of the land from elders. That curiosity became a calling — and eventually, a company.
With over a decade of hands-on guiding experience, Boniface has led hundreds of travellers from every corner of the world through Tanzania's most breathtaking landscapes. He knows the secret water holes where lions gather at dusk, the ridge on Kilimanjaro where you feel you could touch the stars, the exact bend in the Grumeti River where crocodiles lie in wait during the Migration.
His philosophy is simple: treat every guest as a fellow explorer, not a tourist. Every safari is personal, every moment intentional.
— Boniface LyimoWhat We Stand For
Three principles shape every decision we make — from the lodges we choose to the roads we take.
We operate with minimal environmental impact, choose eco-certified lodges where possible, and educate guests on conservation best practices. Tanzania's wildlife is our legacy — we protect it fiercely.
We work with and employ local Maasai guides and community members, ensuring tourism revenue flows into the communities that share their land with wildlife. Your visit creates real, lasting change.
No scripted itineraries, no tourist traps. We take you to the places locals know — the untouched corners of the Serengeti, the quiet oxbow lakes of Tarangire, the dawn light on the crater rim.
